Why does my screen show a static screen when I try to switch my S3 phone on?

I have an old Samsung Galaxy S3. It was working fine although it does freezes a lot. Usually, when it freezes, it would take a few seconds until it would go to the home screen and the force close pop up would appear so I can force close the app I was using but this time, it took way longer and it didn't go back to the home screen. It just stayed on the app that it froze on. So I decided to take the battery out and leave it be for an hour or 2. When I put the battery back in and tried to turn it on, it just showed me a static screen. I tried removing the battery and putting back in then switching it back on, it was still the same. I tried plugging in the charger and the same results. I even tried pressing the Power button, Home button and Volume Up button simultaneously and it's all the same results. What should I do? I didn't manage to save my memory from that phone and I really don't want to send it to the shop to have everything erased from it. I really need help here.
