Long time lurker introducing myself with a question that's been bugging me for a while:
I have 2 phones. I recently got an android (without a data plan, off ebay) which I'm using as a glorified ipod touch. I love the OS and the development community behind it and am trying to learn more about the technology. In addition, I have a basic phone (w/ verizon) with voice and text that I use normally.
I've been searching for a way to use my android more for voice calls and sms (when I have wifi). I was wondering, is there a way to get my calls and/or texts sent to both phones simultaneously? That way, if I have wifi, I can use my android but if not, I can still get to them on my basic phone. Ultimately, I'm hoping to significantly downgrade my verizon voice/text plan to save more money for grad school.
I've been exploring pinger on the android but it doesn't seem to get calls/texts sent to my basic. And tried out google voice but I doesn't seem very transparent -- and I can't seem to replicate most of the things people have been able to do.
Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated,
